Favourites are a weird concept. The idea is restrictive as everything that exists or that was created has inherent value. Of course the perception of that value is subjective. I often find myself going through phases when I appreciate certain things more than others, which is why my faves evolve often. Nevertheless, forcing myself to come up with lists is a constructive process and it hopefully helps others to discover some unknown jewels. None of the below is absolute or comprehensive.
Favourite Books
I mostly read non-fiction but intersperse fiction in-between. My preferred fiction is either science-fiction or the classics. Not particularly big on contemporary fiction although I am aware that I am missing out. With the aforementioned in mind, here is my book list. It is not always up to date but I shall endeavour to improve upon it continuously.
Favourite Movies & Shows
Dramas are my preferred category. Big fan of Nolan, Scorsese, Fincher, Lucas, Spielberg, Miyazaki & many more. Am a sucker for Star Wars, Star Trek & Marvel. Love an occasional binge. Sorkin is my favourite writer so The West Wing & Newsroom are some of my favourite shows. The list is not comprehensive but here are my favourite movies & shows.
Favourite Music
Everything with a beat that is danceable will do. More specifically I love Hip-Hope, R&B, Afrobeat, Dancehall etc. Enamoured with a lot of contemporary classical music. Movie themes & Ludovico Einaudi are often the soundtrack to my life. My playlists are a mess but if you are curious probably best focus on the yearly Top Songs lists. Favourite Quotes
Words can change reality so studying the most wise, inspiring and compassionate thoughts of people has always been a love of mine. I find moments when the arrangements of words shifts my perspective radically magical. There are far too many quotes that are worth highlighting and I always seek out new ones so here is an evolving list of my favourites.
